Frequently Asked Questions

The independent rear suspension (IRS) on Yamaha golf carts enhances comfort by absorbing shocks and allowing the rear wheels to move independently, reducing the impact of rough or uneven terrain. This system minimizes jolts and vibrations, providing a smoother ride even on bumpy paths. Combined with an automotive-style front suspension, which improves steering control and stability, Yamaha carts offer a stable and comfortable ride across different surfaces. This dual suspension system is particularly beneficial for commercial and maintenance tasks, where extended use demands comfort.

Most Delta-Q battery charge algorithms have a “Maintenance Mode” where it will monitor the battery voltage after a charging cycle has completed. After the battery has self-discharged over time, the charger will automatically start charging the battery to keep it topped up.

For most cases, it is recommended to have the vehicle stored with the charger connected to AC so the charger can maintain battery voltage when the vehicle or machine is stored for long periods of time.

For lead-acid batteries, this is to maintain the state of health of the battery and the convenience of immediately having a charged vehicle/machine after storage.

Delta-Q also encourages the user to double-check and confirm that their algorithm uses a Maintenance Mode and the recommended use of the charger with the manufacturer of the vehicle or machine.

Delta-Q does not take any responsibility and is not liable for any damage caused through use of the charger.

Yes. We encourage users to leave the charger connected to the batteries and AC when storing the application.

Once the charger completes its charge, it will begin monitoring the voltage of the batteries. Lead-acid batteries self-discharge over time and the self-discharge rate increases as batteries age. If the batteries self-discharge to a voltage below 1.80V per cell, the charger will restart and perform a charge cycle to top up the batteries.

If the voltage does not drop below 1.80V per cell and there is no activity or interruption to the chargers AC or DC connections for 14 days, the charger will restart and perform a maintenance charge cycle. Each time a cycle is performed the 14-day timer is reset. This process will continue unless the charger enters an error code situation where the AC power may need to be cycled to clear the fault.

We strongly encourage users to check their batteries and charger periodically during the storage period to ensure the charge hasn’t entered a fault mode and to perform any battery maintenance that is required, e.g. watering or cleaning terminals.
