Superintendent Mark Smith describes reduction in mowing time now that they are using Ventrac equipment. With Ventrac’s slope rating, Hawk’s Nest is now able to mow lake banks and hillsides steep areas around replacing what was once a push mower and weed eater job. Smith also uses Ventrac to mow fescue native areas. Besides mowing, Ventrac’s buffalo turbine blower, has now replaced backpack blowers. Hawk’s Nest Golf Course is owned and Operated by Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI).
